Department of Soil-Plant Nutrition and Fertilizers TEXT SIZE: A A A
With principles and techniques for development of soil nutrient resources and efficient utilization of fertilizers as its main thrust, this department centers its efforts on studying processes and mechanisms of interactions between soils, plants, fertilizers and the environment. These include: (1) physical, chemical and biological processes of soil nutrients and fertilizers in soils along with exchange and cycling of these nutrients in soil–plant systems; (2) biological mechanisms and molecular basis for efficient plant root mobilization of soil nutrients and adaptation to soil stresses; (3) fertilizer effects in the soil-water-atmosphere system; (4) new controlled release fertilizers; and (5) fertilization techniques for special cash crops and high quality agricultural produce.
