Soil Sub-center of CERN TEXT SIZE: A A A

Established in 1992, the Soil Sub-Center (SSC), another member unit of the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN), is geared towards research on a regional and national scale for nutrient cycling in agro-ecosystems and spatio-temporal changes in soil quality and their environmental effects with the 3S technique. It employs a spatial analytic model for decision-making in sustainable agriculture and eco-environmental safety. Additionally, the SSC is tasked with setting up regional and national soil science data bases and a system for support by expert staff.

Key staff members and major research fields:

Dr. Yang Linzhang, professor: Theory and techniques for optimization of agroecosystems and sustainable agriculture.
Dr. Wang Dejian, professor: Nutrient cycling and optimization of management in farmland eco-systems.
