From February 19 to 21, 2025, the institute hosted Ramazanova Raushan, Chairman of the Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Saparov Galymzhan, Head of the Department of Soil Ecology, and Jilili Abuduwaili, Director of the CAS Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia and a researcher at the CAS Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography.

During their visit, a discussion was conducted focusing on Central Asian soils and ecology, as well as the development and cooperation of soil science between China and Kazakhstan. The talk was chaired by Prof. Zhang Ganlin, with the participation of Director General Prof. Shen Renfang, Deputy Director Prof. Yan Xiaoyuan and other researchers.

After the discussion, the guests toured the institute’s history museum, the library of soil samples from national soil census, Soil & Environment Analysis Center, Temperature by Free-Air CO2 Enrichment and other research platforms.

The guests commended the significant progress made by China in soil and ecology, expressing their eagerness to gain insights from China’s experience in national soil census and the management of soil and ecology. Prof. Zhang Ganlin stated his readiness to work with the Kazakh representatives to contribute Chinese strength to address ecological challenges in Central Asia.
