Fengqiu experimental station of agro-ecosystem was founded in 1983. It is a key station of China Ecosystem Research Network (CERN), one of the first batch of national observation and research stations of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a national experimental station of agricultural environment observation of the Ministry of Agriculture. Aiming at the farmland ecosystem of double cropping and intensive planting in Huang-Huai-Hai plain, observations were conducted to explore the evolution trends of agricultural resources and ecological environment, Studies were carried out to reveal the structure, function and productivity of different agricultural ecosystems, the law of material and energy cycle, the function of biological service and the relationship between it and environmental conditions. Some regional modern agricultural optimization models were constructed and promoted. Since 2001, it has been evaluated as an excellent ecological station three times by CERN of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for five-year evaluation, and an excellent national field station in 2019.
